Something must have happened yesterday. Prices at many Indiana stations jumped 30 cents - to $3.65, late in the day yesterday.

If you want to know if gas prices are going to stay high drive past the Fort and Schafer Marathon refinery. When the parking lots are empty gas prices are high. When the parking lots are full gas prices are down.

East coast refineries operated at only 75% of capacity.......no demand
that means prices should drop.......
they went up instead.......ban sepculation in oil futures now, make it a felony, declare them enemy combatants or traitors, deport them or shoot them

with NO real threat of shortage, the Saudis offering to make up any shortfall, no Suez Canal problem, and we do not use Libyan oil, if supplies same as or greater than last year were to be believed, we should be paying the SAME as last year. HA HA HA.
Greed and Speculation are the new supply and demand.

Oil inventories increased while gasoline inventories decreased makes it sound like the they are pushing gas prices up by not producing the gas.

I'm torn. I like getting the numbers report. It is interesting.
But I'm frustrated that we ended up with really watered down financial reform (Dodd-someone bill) and the speculation continues to drive up prices and defy any supply/demand curve.
