Coffee is a personal taste choice, for sure. I like it strong, to taste like coffee. I am biased to Starbucks, the bolder the better. At home, Maxwell House - good to the last drop. Heaping teaspoons per cup.
I have had coffee in some reataurants that is so weak it looks like tea.

Spent some time recently in Vegas. I simply could not get a bad cup of coffee. The cafes in the hotels and casinos on the strip had excellent brew. I was not drinking hard liquor and instead ordered coffee in the bars in the casinos. They had terrific coffee. Yup the coffee in the bars and nightclubs was better than you get in a frou-frou boutique cafe.

I never could handle Starbucks but I haven't tried their "blonde one" yet. Don't even try Burger King's new coffee. It taste like dish water !!! A small coffee there goes for .25 and I wanted a medium size coffee so my wife said just get 2 small ones for .50 No !! I ordered a medium coffee and paid $1.87 !!! Dam, she's right again. They didn't even offer me a senior discoult. I do like Dunkin & Mc Doinalds plus they give a senior discount !!

Funny, but McDonald's coffee tastes better than Starbuck's coffee. It reminds me of the way my grandpa's coffee tasted when he use to sneak it to me by the spoonful as a five year old.

I'm a lot more educated now about milk. Having lived in the GTA area of Ontario all my life I only know milk from what I see in all the grocery stores here, which as I stated, is 3.25% for whole milk.
And like I have already posted, it is obvious that the standards/rules for milk are a lot different here in Canada than in the US.

<<<,Not sure what you are talking about when you refer to gas station milk. >>>. . . If you go into a gas station just about all of them sell bread, milk , ice cream, soda. When I reference "gas station milk" I mean milk sold in a gas station, convenience store, or supermarket. . . Those are milks which satisfy the legal definition of milk. But as I've stated in numerous posts, one can buy a high quality milk from a real dairy or farmer's market which will have a richer taste due to being 4%, 5% or 6% milkfat. This milk is far less processed, more natural, better for you, and has a far lower bacteria count. . . I guess you could call them 'craft milk'.

Whole milk or homogenized milk sold in grocery stores in Ontario is 3.25%. Then there is 2%, 1% & skim. That is it for milk. Anything higher is marketed as cream, as I have described in previous posts.
Not sure what you are talking about when you refer to gas station milk.

But If you talk to a dairyman, he'll fill you in on what separates a quality milk from a real dairy from that stuff you get in gas stations. . . First fat content is voluntarily higher, the dairy is going for good taste so their milk is slightly higher, 4, 5 or 6 percent. Also the bacterial levels are much lower. The dairy will throw out milk with a bacteria count found in a typical gas station milk. Also the temp is maintained much cooler at a dairy. At the milk store the cases are at a state minimum. Thats not good enough for a real dairy, it'll be much cooler. Even the truck coming from the farm with raw milk is much cooler.

With these huge differences in how USA classifies cream & how we do here in Canada I guess this is a major stumbling block in Canada becoming the 51st state ;o)
Wikipedia states that whole milk in Canada is 3.25% and is the same for the US.

Got nothing to do with arbitrary state definitions. This is US Federal law. Fat content of dairy products is codified by the US Food and Drug Administration under the Code of Federal Regulations - Title 21, Part 131 . . (NOTE: Under these same regulations whole milk must have a MINIMUM of 3 1/4 % milkfat. Many milks have higher levels. Especially those milks sold by old fashioned dairies and delivered to your house. Often 5 or 6% milkfat. 3 1/2 % is a cheap milk sold by gas stations , a quality or boutique dairy will sell 5 or 6% )

Here whole milk is 3.5%.
The only thing we have in common is whipping cream at 35%.

Half-and-Half: 12% fat Light Cream: 20% fat Light Whipping Cream: 30% fat Whipping Cream: 35% fat Heavy Cream and Heavy Whipping Cream: 38% fat
Anything labelled 5% is not cream , thats called whole milk.

I'm not a coffee snob & McD's works for me. Especially with their $1.39 special here in Ontario that they have had for quite a while (and i mean quite a while, well over 1 year): small coffee with a muffin. Their orange cranberry muffin is yummy.

Hemond & my other US friends
Further to our discussion about the octane levels of cream & what constitutes heavy cream, since I don't buy/use cream I went into a couple of stores today to see what they have to offer.
Neilsons 5% - labelled as Light Cream - the carton only talks about using it with coffee.
Neilsons 10% - labelled as Half & Half - the carton only talks about using it with coffee.
Neilsons 18% - labelled as Table Cream - the graphic on the carton shows it being poured over fruit - there is no mention on the carton about using it with coffee, only talks about soup, salad, sauce & cereal.
I checked a few websites to see if we have any regulations in Ontario for calling something cream & the only thing that I could find that actually indicated an octane rating was that Table Cream has to be 16 - 32%.

I live in the GTA area of Ontario. I have no idea what any US laws are regarding cream. What I have posted relates to what I see here in Ontario. We have a variety of coffee shops (Starbucks, Second Cup, Tim Hortons, Coffee Time to name a few). None of them advertise what octane their cream is.
What I said about Tims is the case plus what I said about what the general public usually see in the grocery stores.
