There's been at least one LDS President who told the faithful to go out and vote Republican.
Don't remember which one, but I did comment about that to an RLDS (grew up in Jackson County, Missouri, a RLDS hotbed) friend who took great umbrage about what they were doing out in Utah.

Good post.
If Arizona elects a Republican governor, that person is impeached. Then, a Democrat is elected. Yet, as a state, we usually go Republican in the presidential races.

No surprise there. Utah is the most Republican state in the union.
