It was early in October 1946 that Nathan H. Knorr, who was then the president of the Watch Tower Society, first proposed that the Society produce a fresh translation of the Christian Greek Scriptures. Actual work on the translation got under way on December 2, 1947. It wasn't until September 3, 1949 that the Society announced that the work of completing The New World Translation of the Holy Scriptures was completed. Yet God's spirit continued to motivate the Watchtower Society's governing body to work toward production of a better Translation.

Many have wondered about the 1984 release of Jehovah's Witnesses Translation of The New World Translation of the Holy Scriptures. Is it a good translation. The only way to know if you will enjoy it is to do some serious comparative reading. Personally, I like the fluency of thought as well as the exactness of expression.

It is our hope you enjoy studying The New World Translation of the Holy Scriptures.

1 In [the] beginning God created the heavens and the earth.

2 Now the earth proved to be formless and waste and there was darkness upon the surface of [the] watery deep; and God’s active force was moving to and fro over the surface of the waters.

3 And God proceeded to say: “Let light come to be.” Then there came to be light. 4 After that God saw that the light was good, and God brought about a division between the light and the darkness. 5 And God began calling the light Day, but the darkness he called Night. And there came to be evening and there came to be morning, a first day.

My favorite is, “‘Look! I am coming quickly, and the reward I give is with me, to render to each one as his work is.-Rev 22:12

The New World Translation of the Holy Scriptures Blesses and praises Jehovah by bearing his holy name throughout...Jesus, therefore, is happy to do what is written in Revelation to those who conquer! Rev. 3:12

Revelation 22:17 And the spirit and the bride keep on saying: “Come!” And let anyone hearing say: “Come!” And let anyone thirsting come; let anyone that wishes take life’s water free.

I enjoy the lack of "thees" and "thous" that belongs with King James who is long deceased. Even some of the revised Bibles have the old way of speaking ingrained in their Bibles.

But I am especially proud to have a Bible that is not a coward to bear the Almighty Sovereign's name, Jehovah.

It is so funny that, So many do not know that they are praising Jehovah when they say, "Hallelujah"...if they had this knowledge of what they are saying...would they stop saying "Hallelujah"???

These are only a few of the things I enjoy as there are too many to mention here.

What did you enjoy about this fresh and clear translation?
