yes, we try to follow the recommendations to keep the warranty in effect. This has paid off for us over the years when we needed to enforce the warranty.

Nope because it is a bunch of horse poop!!!! they tell you that so they can get the buisness. all you really need to do is check the fluids, change the oil and if something strange is happening check it out or get it checked out!!

Yes, as close as possible. Sometimes I am off by a couple hundred miles, but that's about it.

On the big things - Yes. My 98 Honda Accord manual says i can go 7500 miles between oil changes. i go about 5000 miles between changes. I have 145,000 miles, without any maintenance other than that indicated in the manual. Still getting 30 MPG

That is the one thing I do faithfully. Following the suggested maintenance schedule, maybe not to the letter but close, helps to maintain the fuel economy as well as keep all fluids up to where they need to be. I check the oil and most other fluid levels when I fill up, the transmission every month and change the oil in the car every 3000 kms. I change the tranny fluid and replace the tranny filter every 20,000 kms. I know it's overkill but it pays to be on top of things. Touch wood, I haven't broken down on the highway for over 20 years now.

Not really....I just prolong the maintenance checkup. I know it's not good, but I wait until 'I get my income tax to fix anything wrong with my cars.
